Campus Engagement
The key to successful recruiting is building and maintaining a strong presence on campus. The ÃÛÌÒAV Career Center offers a number of ways to engage with students, including:

Friends of Lawrence
The Friends of Lawrence program, facilitated by the ÃÛÌÒAV Career Center, provides alumni, faculty, parents, and community members with an easy way to share internships, part-time jobs, and full-time positions with Lawrence students. Inspired by the belief that meaningful connections often begin within a community, this program helps expand students' access to opportunities while strengthening the Lawrence network.
Whether you are hiring for a single position* or looking to give back to the Lawrence community by sharing opportunities, Friends of Lawrence offers a streamlined way to connect with current students without creating a formal employer recruiting account on Handshake.
* Please note, this program is not intended for high-volume or cyclical recruiters who already have established pathways through the Career Center.
How It Works
Submit an Opportunity
Complete a brief online with details about your position.
Review and Posting
The Career Center reviews submissions and posts approved jobs or internships to the Friends of Lawrence Handshake account. Postings must meet the Career Center . Approved opportunities will go live within 1–2 business days and remain active for two weeks. If you want your posting to be reactivated after two weeks, please contact us.
Students Apply Directly
Interested students apply through the contact information or application process you provide.

Internship Resources
Hosting an academic year or summer intern can be a rewarding experience, while filling a short term need or project within your organization. We are happy to connect you with students who are interested in interning with your organization.
As defined by NACE, an internship is an extension of learning done in the classroom and provides space for practical application of classroom knowledge. An internship experience should have a defined beginning and end, and skills learned should be transferable to other employment settings.
To assist in creating structured learning for your intern, Lawrence has created a document to create space for your intern and set learning goals. Please see the document below.
If your intern is part of our summer internship program, we will also collect feedback from you in the form of a mid-term and final evaluation. We can also provide support or intervention if you need assistance with intern interaction or behaviors.
